Chiranjeevi’s birthday: Pawan Kalyan shares childhood memories with the Megastar; says, ‘My Annaya was always my hero’

Actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan who also serves as the Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan wished his elder brother Megastar Chiranjeevi on his birthday as he turned 71 today. He remembered the days when the ‘Kaaka’ star left home to study in Narsapur. He said his elder brother’s return during summer holidays felt like a festival for the family.

He wrote, “A thought about Annaya @KChiruTweets is always a source of joy.” Pawan also remembered how proud he felt while walking beside Chiranjeevi during his school days.“When he used to ride my father’s bike (Bullet – 350 cc) with his curly long hair, fit NCC Cadet body with bell bottoms and glasses – oh! it was an absolutely fanboy and hero-worshipping moment. My Annaya was always a Hero for me even before he became a Hero,” he wrote.In his X post, Pawan Kalyan also posted an old childhood picture and a video from his swearing-in ceremony in 2024. In the video, he can be seen walking towards Chiranjeevi and touching his feet to seek his blessings.The ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ star also recalled how Chiranjeevi used to bring small gifts for the family from his trips.Pawan Kalyan also spoke about the difficult days of Chiranjeevi’s film career. He remembered seeing his brother work for long hours during film shoots in Chennai. He said the ‘Godfather’ actor worked for around 18 hours and often returned home late at night after long and difficult days.

Days of Chiranjeevi’s struggles

“I had seen his struggle, hard work and injuries in shoots. Everyday he used to reach home in the middle of the night after 18 hours shift of laborious work in his sweat-drenched costumes and shoes in the Chennai’s heat and humidity; with hardly any strength to stand…,” he wrote.He also remembered how Chiranjeevi supported him despite his own academic failures and lack of direction. Pawan Kalyan said his brother always shared his generosity with family, friends, producers and people in the film industry.

Pawan Kalyan also praised Chiranjeevi for his achievements and described him as a person who never stops working.He mentioned Chiranjeevi’s work in Indian cinema, his Hindi films, philanthropic work, National Awards and Padma Vibhushan.He wrote, “What he hadn’t seen and achieved, but he never rests. After a major spinal operation recently, he bounces back within no time with his strength training and goes back to work. Like a city never sleeps, he’s a man who never rests. He’s born with an unstoppable motor within. That’s why he’s become our beloved ‘Mega Star’ and my only Hero.”Lastly, he completed his birthday note wishing Chiranjeevi good health and strength.On the work front, Chiranjeevi will be next seen in the upcoming action thriller ‘Kaaka’ directed by Bobby Kolli.
