The GOAT connection between Vijay and Dhoni
Vijay and Dhoni also have an interesting cinema connection. In Vijay’s 2024 blockbuster ‘The Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu, archived IPL footage featuring MS Dhoni appears in one of the sequences. The footage also includes other cricketers such as Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad.Although Dhoni did not shoot a new cameo for the film, the sequence impacted the climax of the movie. Many fans even joked on social media that Vijay had “saved” Dhoni in true GOAT style, as the climax revolved around the actor taking down the villain who planted a bomb in a stadium where Dhoni is playing.
