Actress-producer Kirti Kulhari, who was recently seen in the streaming series ‘Shekhar Home’, has become the latest victim of cyber fraud in Mumbai. Unidentified scammers gained unauthorised access to her mobile phone and credit card, duping her of Rs 243,852 within just a few minutes, according to a police complaint filed by the actress.
Kirti Kulhari registers case with Amboli police against cyber fraud
According to the IANS report, a case has been registered at the Amboli police station based on Kulhari’s complaint. According to the FIR, the actress, who resides in Versova and supports her family through acting and film production, was at the Cinepolis theatre near Fun Republic Mall in Andheri West when she received an alert about a transaction worth USD 2,525 on Aeromexico Airlines via her bank credit card.On noticing the suspicious foreign transaction, Kulhari immediately contacted her bank’s toll-free helpline. Bank officials later confirmed that four major unauthorised transactions had been made using her credit card, following which the card was blocked as a precautionary measure.
Kirti Kulhari says the password was never shared
In her statement to the police, Kirti Kulhari clarified that her credit card password was strictly confidential and had not been shared with anyone. Investigators suspect her phone and card may have been compromised through malware or spyware. Given the seriousness of the case, the Amboli police have registered an FIR against unknown accused, and the Cyber Cell is now tracking the culprits using bank reference numbers and digital footprints.

The actress announced the completion of shooting for her debut feature film as a producer, calling it a major milestone in her career.
