Vicky Kaushal once shared a hilarious anecdote from his wedding to Katrina Kaif, revealing how the traditional ‘joota chupai’ ritual nearly left him in a tricky situation. The actor recalled that Katrina’s sisters managed to steal his shoes despite his brothers’ attempts to guard them – only for the missing footwear to become a problem when the actress wanted to take sunset photographs after their pheras.Vicky shared the story while promoting his film ‘Govinda Naam Mera’ on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.

Recalling the wedding ritual, Vicky said his brothers had assured him that they would make sure his shoes were safe. However, Katrina’s sisters eventually managed to get hold of them as he was making his way towards the mandap.“My two brothers from Ludhiana assured me not to worry, they would handle it. As I was heading to the mandap, Katrina’s sisters approached and started pulling my shoes. Even my brothers insisted, ‘We won’t let them take it.’ But I told them, ‘Take whatever you want,’ and they hid the shoes away,” Vicky recalled. The incident was part of the playful ‘joota chupai’ tradition, in which members of the bride’s side hide the groom’s footwear and typically demand money in exchange for returning it.
Katrina wanted sunset pictures after the pheras
The missing shoes, however, soon became an unexpected problem. Once the wedding rituals were over, Katrina wanted to make the most of the setting sun and have photographs taken with Vicky.But there was one issue – the groom had no shoes.Vicky recalled, “After our ‘pheras’ were completed, Katrina wanted to take pictures before sunset. However, at that moment, the sun was setting and the groom didn’t have his shoes. Katrina scolded everyone, asking, ‘Where are his shoes?’”
