Actor Rakesh Bedi has expressed shock over the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff in Mumbai and urged the government and law enforcement agencies to take stronger measures to protect artists. Speaking to India Today, the ‘Dhurandhar’ actor described actors, singers and dancers as “soft targets” and questioned why Tiger, whom he described as a polite and non-controversial person, was allegedly targeted. The incident, in which Tiger’s driver and another man were injured, has raised fresh concerns about the safety of members of the entertainment industry.

Rakesh Bedi is shocked by the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff

Rakesh Bedi has reacted to the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff’s BMW in Mumbai’s Juhu area, expressing disbelief that such an incident had taken place. In an interview with India Today, the actor said he learnt about the incident after returning from an event in Hyderabad and switching on the television to catch up on the headlines.“I was more than surprised; I was shocked. It was the middle of the night yesterday. I was in Hyderabad for a function, came back quite late and switched on the TV to catch some headlines. That’s when I heard about this. I saw the news around 12:31 am and was completely taken aback for several reasons,” he said.Bedi also expressed surprise that Tiger and his father, veteran actor Jackie Shroff, had become associated with such an incident, describing both as people who had maintained a low profile and stayed away from controversy.“First, I was shocked that something like this was happening in the industry again. Secondly, I was even more shocked because Jackie Shroff and Tiger Shroff have been such nice, non-controversial people. They have never been involved in any kind of controversy or made any untoward statements against anyone. They have been doing their work very honestly, nicely, politely and quietly for so many years,” Bedi added.

‘Artists are soft targets’: Rakesh Bedi calls for stronger security measures

Bedi questioned why Tiger had allegedly been targeted, describing him as a young actor who enjoys considerable popularity, particularly among children. He also clarified that he was unaware of the alleged connections or motives being discussed in connection with the incident.“I kept wondering why anyone would threaten him. I have no idea about any links or whatever people are saying he has. People are saying he is doing, was doing or is supposed to do something, but I have no idea about that,” he said. The 71-year-old actor urged the government and law enforcement agencies to address the security concerns facing people in the entertainment industry. Pointing out that artists need to travel, attend events and continue working, Bedi said personal security measures alone cannot eliminate every risk.Bedi emphasised that the issue extends beyond film actors to singers, dancers and other performers who regularly interact with the public.“In any case, any artists, actors, singers, artists, and dancers, we are all soft targets,” Bedi said.
