Case Dylan Baker, known online as CaseOh, had a pretty normal working life before the internet changed everything for him. He was doing maintenance work with his father in rural Arkansas, handling things like plumbing and mowing lawns. Streaming was something he had wanted to do since his early teens, inspired by creators like Nadeshot and the early OpTic Gaming scene. But his first attempts at making videos did not really go anywhere. Then came September 2022. Baker started uploading batches of funny NBA 2K23 clips to TikTok, timing them around the release of new versions of the game. The move worked way faster than expected. Within 48 hours, he had gained more than 10,000 followers, and on September 11, he went live on Twitch for the first time. Just two years later, the same creator was standing at The Game Awards, winning Content Creator of the Year.
CaseOh’s first big break came from NBA 2K23 TikToks
The TikTok strategy became the first real turning point. Instead of slowly building an audience, Baker pushed several short, energetic clips around NBA 2K23. The sudden follower growth gave him a reason to move those viewers toward Twitch.His early streams were not exactly running on a perfect setup either. Because of limited internet infrastructure in rural Arkansas, he famously had to use a mobile hotspot for some broadcasts. Still, the growth kept coming. By November 2022, less than two months after starting, he received an invitation to the Twitch Partner Program.
His audience helped turn CaseOh into a variety streamer
NBA 2K was only the beginning. Baker eventually moved into indie games, simulators, low-budget horror titles and Roblox. Games like Contraband Police and Supermarket Simulator became part of the variety format that defined his streams.A huge part of the appeal was his interaction with chat. Viewers regularly threw food-related jokes at him, including lines like “Built like a 1×1 Lego piece” and “Case-a-dilla.” His mock-rage reactions and quick ban-hammer moments became a recognizable part of the streams.
CaseOh went from Arkansas maintenance work to The Game Awards
On December 12, 2024, the journey reached its biggest point yet. At The Game Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Baker won Content Creator of the Year.He beat a field that included Usada Pekora, Typical Gamer, Techno Gamerz and IlloJuan. He had also picked up multiple Best Variety Streamer awards at The Streamer Awards.For Baker, the win carried a very specific meaning. He had gone from long days of blue-collar maintenance work in a small Arkansas town to one of the biggest creator awards in gaming. His victory speeches repeatedly returned to that background, showing that the entire jump happened while he stayed rooted in the same story: an average guy from Arkansas finding a massive audience by being authentic and consistent.
