NEW DELHI: Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Centre’s new UPI fee framework, accusing him of “surrendering” to US pressure.In a video posted on X, Rahul referred to former prime minister Indira Gandhi while drawing a comparison with PM Modi over the new UPI measures.He said: “Indiraji was once asked whether she leans left or right, and her response was, ‘I don’t lean left or right. I stand straight.’”“Modiji has a completely different concept. He’s neither left nor right. He has decided to lie down straight and prostrate himself in front of Donald Trump. He has put a tax on every single Indian by taxing UPI,” former Congress president addedHe said: “Modiji, please stop lying down in front of the US. And please roll back the UPI tax.”
