R Madhavan joins Akshay Kumar in Sajid Khan’s comedy

According to Mid-day, R Madhavan has come on board Sajid Khan’s next comedy, which is expected to be an out-and-out entertainer. The report describes the film as a “hilarious comedy of errors” centred on middle-aged men and mounted on a large scale. Madhavan, who has displayed his comic timing in several projects, will reportedly take on a role unlike those he has played before in this particular space. The film marks his first pairing with Akshay in a full-fledged Sajid Khan comedy, following their courtroom drama ‘Kesari Chapter 2’.

Disha Patani and Shriya Saran to play romantic leads

The untitled comedy is backed by producer Ektaa R Kapoor and will also feature Disha Patani and Shriya Saran. According to the report, the two actresses will play the romantic leads opposite the male protagonists. The film is expected to revolve around a series of comic misunderstandings involving its middle-aged male characters, with the story being mounted on a larger scale than a conventional situational comedy.

When will Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan’s film go on floors?

The film is expected to begin production in London towards the end of this year or in early 2027. Akshay is reportedly set to follow a start-to-finish schedule after completing ‘Samuk’. Once that project is completed, the filmmaker is expected to begin work on his next comedy.
