‘Loophole’ got right wing commentator TG Mohandas bail, says Kerala minister
TG Mohandas was taken into custody over objectionable comment on women protesters

Kerala Health Minister K Muraleedharan on Tuesday said right-wing political commentator TG Mohandas secured bail due to a “loophole” after his arrest over alleged remarks on a student protest in New Delhi, while BJP MLA V Muraleedharan described the action against him as “selective retaliation” by the state government.Mohandas was arrested by Kerala Police on Monday morning over remarks allegedly made in a YouTube video about a protest by students in the national capital over the NEET paper leak. He was released on bail later the same day.Muraleedharan said he had been informed that the prosecution’s case was not presented effectively and that the government would examine the reasons for it and take appropriate action.“He was booked for offences for which it was not easy to get bail, as that was the kind of statements he made. He got bail on a loophole. Nevertheless, the government will take stringent steps in the matter,” the minister told reporters.BJP leader V Muraleedharan, however, questioned the government’s decision to act against Mohandas, saying there may be differing views on his remarks but alleged that no action had been taken against people who made “heinous” comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother.
