Saudi Arabia and Egypt have signed an agreement to exempt holders of official passports from short-stay visa requirements, in a move aimed at easing travel and reinforcing cooperation between the two countries.The agreement was signed in Riyadh by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty. It applies to holders of diplomatic, special and service passports issued by both governments.Under the new arrangement, eligible travellers will be able to move between Saudi Arabia and Egypt without the need to obtain short-stay visas, simplifying procedures for official visits and engagements. The exemption is expected to benefit government officials and representatives who frequently travel for diplomatic, administrative and institutional purposes.The agreement comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Riyadh and Cairo, reflecting a shared interest in deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.
