Mashhoor Amrohi opens up about his role as Nawab Shafiq in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’
In an interview with the Mid-Day, Mashhoor Amrohi shared that everyone felt the character was created through artificial intelligence. He added that no one ever thought it was him playing the role. He said, “For me, the biggest compliment is that nobody believes it is me. Some are saying that it’s AI. I had not anticipated this kind of adulation. There are memes and pictures all over the internet.”For those unfamiliar, Mashhoor Amrohi is the grandson of the late filmmaker Kamal Amrohi.In the same conversation, Mashhoor Amrohi added that during the initial look test, the makeup team couldn’t achieve what Aditya Dhar needed for the movie. He shared, “When we sat for the first make-up test, we didn’t quite achieve what the director wanted. We had to depict the (same) body weight, face, and aging. Preetisheel (makeup artist) went all out—I sat through more than eight hours of makeup daily for four days.”The actor further revealed, “For the weight, I had a bodysuit with a paunch.”
