NEW DELHI: India on Thursday showed gratitude to the Seychelles government for providing “swift and life-saving assistance” to 17 Indian fishermen on a fishing vessel that had an engine failure in the rough seas off the nation’s coast.Ministry of external affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, said on X that the prompt aid demonstrated the “close and enduring bonds of friendship” between the two nations.He also included some pictures of the fishermen and the recovered fishing boat in his tweet.“Government of India expresses gratitude to the Government of Seychelles for its swift and life-saving assistance to 17 Indian fishermen aboard IFB Sajira, which suffered an engine failure in the high seas off the coast of Seychelles,” MEA said.“This timely assistance reflects the close and enduring bonds of friendship between India and Seychelles, and our shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our people,” he wrote.
