Actor Nivin Pauly is basking in the success of his latest release, ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’, also known as ‘BKU’ starring Mamitha Buaji. The film was released during the Onam festival and has already crossed Rs 230 crore mark worldwide. Recently the actor talked about the film and what made it such a feat.In a conversation with Variety India, Nivin Pauly while talking about the success of the film called ‘BKU’ his biggest hit so far and gave credit to the entire team, especially director Girish AD.
Nivin Pauly credits family audiences
He said, “This is my biggest hit so far. All credit goes to the team, especially director Girish AD. It was a wonderful script. The age-gap romance, the packaging, the humor… everything landed.”Nivin also spoke about the decision to release the film during Onam and said family audiences played an important role in its success. He shared that producers Fahadh Faasil, Syam Pushkaran and Dileesh Pothan of Bhavana Studios had locked the Onam release much earlier. Nivin further added that the film connected strongly with family audiences.“Family audiences are the backbone of Indian cinema, in any language. If families like a film, ticket sales soar. Theatres are happy too — concession sales boom,” he said.

Nivin Pauly also spoke about his connection with romantic films. He made his entry into the film industry with ‘Premam’, which became a major success and remains one of his most popular films.

Speaking of his next work, Nivin Pauly is now preparing for the Tamil film ‘Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai’, directed by Ram. The film is scheduled to release in October.In Malayalam, Nivin is working on a film tentatively titled ‘NP51’. The project is produced by director Martin Prakkat along with Nivin’s banner Pauly Pictures and is directed by Nashid Famy, who previously made ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey’.The film is said to be another family entertainer with humor and romance. Rukmini Vasanth will play the female lead. The film is targeting a Vishu 2027 release, which falls on April 14.The actor also revealed that he is in talks with a few other filmmakers, although nothing has been officially locked yet.
