Jaafar Jackson recently sat down for an interview with GQ Middle East to talk about his career and what his plans are after his successful debut with ‘Michael.’ The star commented on Janet’s absence from the film during the interview, commenting, “I don’t want to speak too early, but Janet has ideas of maybe doing her own film. So having someone portrayed in this and then choosing a different actor for her own is just…”
Why was Janet Jackson not in Michael Jackson’s biopic?
Many fans had questioned as to why Janet had not appeared in the film and how there was no mention of her whatsoever. Their sister, La Toya, had stated with Variety in April, addressing the matter. She shared, “I wish everybody was in the movie. She was asked, and she kindly declined. So you have to respect her wishes.” Director Antoine Fuqua has also commented that Janet may not have been a part of the project; however, she still supported her nephew. He shared, “I have so much respect and love for Janet, but you know it’s okay. She’s supportive of Jaafar, and that’s what matters.”
