‘Lucky Bhaskar’ director Venky Atluri has shared his thoughts about Bollywood actors working in Telugu cinema. The filmmaker spoke openly about work culture and said that every actor should respect the industry they are working in. He said learning the local culture and following the working style is very important.
Venky Atluri talks about working in different film industries
Venky Atluri while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter shared about actors moving between different film industries. He said that every artist should first understand the work culture before starting a new project. According to him, this is the right way to work in any language industry.
Director says every artist must learn the local culture
While explaining his point, the ‘Vaathi’ director used himself as an example. He said that if he gets a chance to direct a Hindi film, he will first spend time understanding how things work there before starting the project.He said, “If I want to work in Hindi, I will take at least a 3 months break and study the set. Similarly, when you come to Telugu, you have to work according to Telugu mindset.”He further added, “If I’m doing a Bollywood film, I will learn the culture and working conditions there, only then, I will start. In the same way, if a Bollywood actor comes to Telugu, they have to adopt similarly.”
Venky Atluri talked about working style of Telugu cinema
Venky also spoke about the long shooting hours in Telugu cinema. He said that working hours are different from some other industries and everyone should respect those conditions.He said, “We used to work for 11–12 hours on the set. Be it a Tamil, Malayalam, or Hindi actor, they should respect Telugu working conditions. Anybody coming here should have to agree to that.”
Venky Atluri’s upcoming film
Now, on the work front, Venky Atluri is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie, ‘Vishwanath & Sons’. The film tells the story of a talented pistol shooter who is in his 40s meets a young woman, who later falls in love with him.The film is set to hit the big screens on August 14.
