Amitabh Bachchan puts health scare rumours to rest, says his blog was never about his medical condition: ‘I am fine, I did not undergo surgery, it is a misunderstood post’

Amitabh Bachchan has addressed the health concerns sparked by one of his recent blog posts, which led many fans to believe he had undergone surgery or was admitted to the ICU. The speculation quickly spread across social media. However, the 83-year-old star has now clarified that the post was misunderstood and had no connection to his own health, reassuring everyone that he is doing well.

Amitabh Bachchan explains viral blog

In a conversation with Variety India, the 83-year-old actor revealed that his blog was taken out of context and was intended as a metaphor rather than a personal health update.“I am fine. I did not undergo surgery. It is a misunderstood post. I was giving an example that the period after a surgery or ICU, the most difficult time is when you come home and have to deal with your damaged condition. So when a champion loses, the most difficult time is dealing with yourself in its aftermath. I was referring to Argentina’s loss (against Spain in the FIFA World Cup) and Messi as a champion that lost. People have assumed it’s a reference to me.His clarification comes after social media was flooded with messages from concerned fans who feared something had happened to the veteran star.

The real message behind the post

According to Bachchan, the blog was meant to draw a comparison between recovering from a difficult medical phase and overcoming emotional setbacks in life. He used the example of a champion facing defeat to illustrate how the toughest battle often begins after the initial setback. The actor stressed that the reference to surgery and ICU was symbolic and was never intended to suggest that he had experienced either.

Amitabh Bachchan responds with trademark humour

When asked whether he was keeping well, Bachchan reassured everyone with a characteristically witty reply. “Absolutely…so far.” The brief yet humorous response has put an end to the rumours and reassured fans about his well-being.The confusion began after Bachchan shared a blog that read:“In hospital in a surgery and in the ICU, under the care of proficient Doctors and medical Staff, a discharge and a homecoming. This homecoming period is the most difficult phase, physically, psychologically and practically. You are a revered Champion and one day a defeat stares at you, this is the most difficult phase of your life. Some brave it, some succumb, they that strive and be brave ever remain Champions, they that do not, get reconciled and live, exist in the past glory, a choice each makes individually, nothing wrong by either. Be well, be happy (sic).”While many interpreted the passage as a reflection on his own health, Bachchan has now made it clear that it was a broader commentary on resilience, recovery and dealing with life’s setbacks, leaving fans relieved that the legendary actor is doing well.
