‘Dhurandhar’ star Ranveer Singh is all set to start filming for his next big project, ‘Pralay’, later this year. Counting as Bollywood’s latest entry into the zombie apocalypse genre, the movie has been creating quite a buzz since last year. Now, according to the latest reports, the actor is all set to begin filming in Australia in September and has already started his preparations.
Ranveer Singh to film ‘Pralay’ in Australia
Ranveer Singh is ready to travel to Australia to start filming for Jay Mehta’s directorial feature ‘Pralay’ in September, Pinkvilla reported. It has also been shared that the pre-production setup for the film has already begun in Australia.The report mentioned, “Ranveer will start shooting for the Jay Mehta directorial in the second half of 2026. The shoot is planned in Australia, and he has already kick-started prep. This is a film that requires intense physical and emotional preparation, given the scale and genre.” Not only that, but the crew behind the film will also consist of many technicians and supervisors who have extensively worked on international projects prior to ‘Pralay.’

The film is going to have a whopping budget of approximately Rs 300 crore, making it another one of Singh’s most expensive films that he has worked on so far. Another statement from the report also added that the film will heavily rely on VFX and special effects and the production team is focusing on all details. The statement read: “Pralay will rely heavily on VFX. Jai and his team are actively working on the screenplay, visual detailing, and the larger zombie universe. Ranveer too has been involved in creative discussions on a day-to-day basis.”The film will explore themes of a zombie apocalypse ravaging the world and making humanity fall apart. The story will be centric to a couple who does anything and everything to survive the apocalypse.The film has been labelled as something new, with Jay Mehta telling Variety India that “It’s the kind of film that India hasn’t made yet, the kind of film that India hasn’t seen before.”

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has been in the headlines following the controversial exit from the upcoming project ‘Don 3.’ According to Free Press Journal, the actor has refused to talk about the matter to the media on any account. For the next 18 months, Singh is reportedly prioritising his work and filming, and will not interact with the media. A statement from the report shared that a trade journalist had approached the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actor; however, “I met him personally. And he told me he will not speak on the ‘Don 3’ controversy, nor will he give any interviews for at least 18 months.”Lastly, Kalyani Priyadarshini is rumoured to join Ranveer Singh for the film; however, the production team and the actress herself have made no confirmations. However, if the actress is, in fact, attached to the upcoming project, this will mark her Bollywood debut after her success with ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra.’
