Nearly seven years after the killing of three BJP workers in Sandeshkhali during post-poll violence in West Bengal in 2019, CBI has arrested 10 people, including local panchayat chief Kader Mollah, a close aide of expelled TMC strongman Sheikh Shahjahan who is now in jail.The three wokers were hacked to death in June at Bhangipara village during the clashes that erupted when TMC supporters allegedly tried to forcibly hoist party flags on a BJP worker’s shop.A day after the arrest of Dipankar Bhattacharyat, the chairman of Baduria municipality in Basirhat sub-division of North 24 Parganas district, police unearthed cash amounting to Rs 2 crore 24 lakh, buried in a jute field adjacent to his farmhouse which were seized.
