Gabbard’s deputy Joe Kent resigned from his post in March, making Gabbard’s impending exit only a matter of time. On Friday, the Director of National Intelligence submitted her resignation and did not mention anything about her ‘disagreement’ over the Iran war. Gabbard said her husband had recently been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer for which she had to step away from her duty.“Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026,” she wrote. “My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.”
